Lineage

The differences between living things are often easy to see. A whale bears little resemblance to an oak tree, and neither seems much like a human. Yet viewed across enough time, those distinctions begin to blur. Branches that appear separate reveal themselves to be part of the same structure, each tracing its way back through a shared history. Connection is not always obvious. Sometimes it is hidden beneath millions of years of accumulated change.
