Climate is usually discussed in numbers. Degrees of warming, percentages, projections stretching decades into the future. Useful information, but difficult to imagine. Comparisons offer another way of understanding change. A distant possibility becomes easier to grasp when it resembles a place that already exists. Sometimes the fastest path to understanding is not through abstraction, but through something familiar.
